DESIGNER

Sebastian Herkner

Sebastian Herkner is a German designer, educated from the HfG Offenbach University of Art and Design. Having founded his eponymous studio in 2006, Herkner's work spans itself across furniture, objects, interior architecture and exhibition design-all these permeated by Herkner's inherent focus on merging traditional craftsmanship with a curiosity towards modern technologies and a bold approach to color, materiality and textures. Herkner has received numerous accolades, including the German Design Award, IF Award, Wallpaper* Design Award and more.

To further elevate and lighten the impression, Sebastian Herkner has added an elegant detail to the exterior back, which folds under the sofa. This approach to the design interrupts the monumental look while also creating an oblique angle inside that forms the sofa’s backrest.
