Materials, certifications and packaging
Behind every design lies a chain of choices – from the materials that shape its form and function to the packaging that protects it in transit. Our work in this area focuses on understanding material composition, maintaining accurate information about relevant certifications, and documenting how materials are sourced and handled.
The following sections provide an overview of our current packaging practices, the certifications associated with fabrics in our collection, and our FSC® Chain of Custody certification.
INFORMED CHOICES
Understanding our fabrics
We are currently strengthening the data behind our fabric collection, beginning with Wendelbo’s own and most frequently used qualities. This includes reviewing material composition, certifications, chemical requirements, recycled content and durability. The aim is to establish a clearer basis for future textile selection and for communicating specific, documented information about individual fabrics.

Wood
Wendelbo holds FSC® Chain of Custody certification (FSC-C216556). The certification provides a verified system for identifying and tracking FSC-certified forest-based materials through the supply chain. Our compliance with the Chain of Custody requirements is reviewed annually by an independent certification body.
The certification does not mean that all wood used in the Wendelbo collection is FSC-certified. FSC claims are made only for products or individual components covered by the required documentation.
PACKAGING
Designed for protection
Packaging plays an important role in protecting our furniture during storage and transport. As each design differs in shape, weight, and construction, the combination of materials is adapted to the protection it requires.
Our current packaging includes corrugated board, honeycomb paper, expanded polystyrene, and protective wrapping. Honeycomb paper is used for selected designs, while expanded polystyrene remains in use where additional impact protection is needed. Where protective wrapping is used, we use biodegradable bags certified for home composting.
